NIHI sponsoring eMental health webinar

Webinar

NIHI is pleased to be sponsoring the upcoming HiNZ webinar eMental Health and The Pandemic. NIHI manages the MoH contract for SPARX, an eHealth tool to help youth with mild to moderate depression and anxiety, and is currently partnering with a number of UoA researchers on initiatives to address the growing burden of mental health and addiction.

Globally, even prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of people experiencing mental health issues was of concern. The effects of the COVID-19 pandemic has undoubtedly impacted the mental health and wellbeing of the nation as people are increasingly impacted by job and economic uncertainty, isolation and uncertainty about the future. These times have been particularly challenging for youth who are also struggling with loss of social interaction with their peers, disruption to routines and schooling; and potentially family issues and dynamics.

The panel will discuss the role eHealth can play in supporting people with mental health problems and the importance of these tools during the pandemic. Karolina Stasiak, Tania Cargo and Terry Fleming from The University of Auckland will represent NIHI on the panel.

The webinar is free to everyone and you can register to attend here.
