Congratulations

Congratulations to Professor Boyd Swinburn, DIET Programme Co-Director, on his recent prestigious awards including WPT James Award of Public Health Research, an International award from the World Obesity Federation, and the Gluckman Medal Recipient for 2022 from the University of Auckland, recognising his outstanding contributions.

Professor Boyd Swinburn's research has been spanning for more than 30 years and covering metabolic, clinical and public health aspects of obesity prevention. He is an international leader in research on community-based obesity prevention, food environments, and food policies. He coined the term ‘obesogenic environments’ (now a standard dictionary term) which changed the discourse paradigms for obesity.
