NetworkZ – Multidisciplinary team training intervention programme for healthcare teams. Better outcomes in acute care.

networkz

NetworkZ is a well-established multidisciplinary in-situ educationvention programme for healthcare teams. The goal is to improve the safety of care for patients and staff. The initial programme has been delivered through a partnership between ACC, and the Faculty of Medical & Health Science at University of Auckland, and delivered by UniServices as part of the National Institute for Health Innovation.

NetworkZ has been implemented at over 20 DHBs around New Zealand with over 3,000 staff trained and more than 600 instructors trained via our Faculty programme, enabling ongoing life of the program in these hospitals. The courses have received enormous positive support and feedback.

All DHB sessions are held in situ (the actual clinical setting) and involve all team members that would normally work together. While the programme was originally implemented in the operating setting the programme is now established in emergency departments and PACU/recovery rooms in public hospitals. We are also excited to be seeking to expand the programme into Radiology and Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2022.
