NIHI’s smoking cessation research trials
07 April 2022
Smoking cessation is a large focus worldwide this week due to #WorldHealthDay. It is also an area that The National Institute for Health Innovation (NIHI) is heavily involved in and committed to continuously investigate innovative, but practical solutions to reduce related health risks in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Below are a couple of research trials that we have done in the field of smoking cessation:
Nicotine patches used in combination with e-cigarettes (with and without nicotine) for smoking cessation: a pragmatic, randomised trial
Cytisine versus varenicline for smoking cessation in New Zealand indigenous Māori: a randomized controlled trial
