Foetal alcohol injuries in NZ 'could be five times higher' than some official figures suggest

Health professionals, teachers and advocates for those with FASD call for a prevalence study as a matter of priority according to a study funded by the Health Research Council. Dr Joanna Chu from The University of Auckland's National Institute for Health Innovation (NIHI) said, "We need the prevalence study to do the advocacy, to prevent it, to get support, and to recognise it as a disability.”
