The Multi-Ethnic New Zealand Study of Acute Coronary Syndromes (MENZACS)

MENZACS

Did you know? In New Zealand, 15% of all deaths annually are caused by ischaemic heart disease and one in four major coronary events are fatal.

MENZACS (The Multi-Ethnic New Zealand Study of Acute Coronary Syndromes) is a longitudinal cohort study - linked to the All New Zealand Acute Coronary Syndrome Quality Improvement (ANZACS-QI) registry, which aims to examine the relationship between clinical, genomic and cardiometabolic markers in relation to presentation and outcomes post Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) events in New Zealand.

MENZACS will be a significant epidemiological bio-resource for understanding the range of factors contributing to ACS in New Zealand’s multi-ethnic environment.
