2021 HRC Project Grant - Developing and Testing Warning Labels to Reduce Alcohol Purchase (WARNING!)

WARNING!

Congratulations to Associate Professor Natalie Walker, Professor Cliona Ni Mhurchu and the rest of their team for their 2021 HRC Project Grant for the project - Developing and Testing Warning Labels to Reduce Alcohol Purchase (WARNING!).

Alcohol is a leading cause of death, disease and social harm in New Zealand, particularly impacting men, young adults, Māori, and people living in the most deprived areas of the country. What impact would alcohol warning labels, such as those related to cancer, heart disease or mental health risk have on purchase and consumption of alcohol?

The WARNING! study, funded by the Health Research Council, will explore consumers’ views and understanding of a range of alcohol warning labels and their likely impact on purchase and consumption of alcohol.
